Run a fast, clean event.
This site covers the three desktop apps in the GoMango Timing suite — Timing, LiveTiming, and Announcer — from first-time setup through running an event day and printing final results.
The three apps
Timing
Connects to the timing hardware, tracks every car on course, and is the single source of truth for the event’s results. One computer runs this app per event.
LiveTiming
Finds the Timing app on the local network and pushes results to your event website as runs happen, so people can follow along online in real time.
Announcer
A read-only, auto-updating scoreboard built for whoever is calling the event over the PA — who’s up next, who just finished, and how close the standings are.
New to working a timing shift?
Start with the Event-Day Quick Start — it walks through the order you turn things on in and what each worker needs to do before cars start running.
Setting up for the first time?
See Install & Network Setup and Registration & Licensing for the one-time computer and network setup that needs to happen before an event.
How the apps talk to each other
All three apps run on computers connected to the same local network (typically the club’s event Wi-Fi or a wired hub at the trailer). Timing is the hub: it owns the event database and listens for connections. LiveTiming and Announcer both broadcast a request on the network when they start up, Timing answers, and they connect automatically — there’s nothing to type in on those two computers beyond starting the app.
