Event-Day Quick Start
The order to launch things in, and a pre-grid checklist for whoever is running timing that day.
Launch order
- Start Timing first, on the computer that will run the event. Open (or create) the season and event you're running — see Seasons, Events & Classes.
- Connect the timer and/or scanner on that same computer. See Connecting the Timer & Scanner.
- Start LiveTiming (if you're publishing results to the web) on its computer. It will find Timing on the network automatically — see Using LiveTiming.
- Start Announcer (if someone is on the PA) on its computer. It also finds Timing automatically — see Using Announcer.
Before you start
All computers running these apps must be on the same local network. If LiveTiming
or Announcer can't find Timing, see Troubleshooting.
Pre-grid checklist (Timing computer)
- Correct season and event are open (title bar / Select Event).
- Classes and run groups match today's entry list — see Drivers & Run Groups.
- Drivers are loaded (imported from registration, or entered/scanned as they arrive).
- Timer is connected and showing a live clock instead of “No Timer.”
- Barcode/QR scanner is connected if you're using bib scanning to stage cars.
- Correct run group and course selected for the first heat.
During the event
The day-to-day work happens in Running an Event: staging cars, recording runs, applying cone/gate penalties, and fixing mistakes (undo start, undo finish, DNF).
At the end of the day
Print or save final results from Results, Printing & Export. If you're running a points season, event results roll into the season standings automatically once saved.
